Bohemian Citizen's Benevolent Society of Astoria
is inviting you to
3rd BCBSA Camping Trip in Ascalona Camp
at Delaware river
July 20 - 22, 2011 (Friday-Sunday)
Why? Because we love to be outside, have fun, eat tasty food from grill/barbeque, to canoe down the Delaware river, to play volleyball and soccer, to drink beer and other cold beverages while enjoying all the moments at the beautiful Ascalona camp owned by Czech couple Jana and Vasek
Who? All BCBSA members and families of Czech and Slovak school students. If you want to invite a friend or two from CSR community, please make sure that they know this is a family event with lots of kids around. Also please you leave their names with Jan Seben so we know about everyone who is joining our group. Without it, anyone else would have to find their own camping spot.
We have the same great spot we had for past two years. No direct access to river, only one passage. Before sending this invitation I know about 13 people coming.
Price? Last year BCBSA paid 50% of the camping fee. We are likely to receive same treatment this year after it is approved by BOD. I’ll keep you informed.
- $15 for an adult/night ($7.50 after BCBSA contribution)
- $7.50 for child 6-12r./night ($3.75 after BCBSA contribution)
- kids under 6 years free
-additional 2$ utility fee imposed this year by owners ($1 after you know what)
Activities? Having fun, grilling, barbequing, canoe/kayak/raft trip down the Delaware river, volleyball, soccer at nearby soccer field (Saturday afternoon), cycling (bring your own or rent)
Services? Coffee, tea, portable toilets, one shower with nice view but some people will not use it at all
Food/Beverages? Bring your own. BCBSA will pay for 2/3 kegs of beer (Staropramen + Plzen), shared food (klobasy, slanina.. BCBSA pay for your bill if you arrange it with Jan prior to purchase) and camping utilities (ice, wood, utensils, cups, plates, coal..).
Previous year Iva Svancarova, Lubos and Lenka Spacek, Basia Gajdos cooked the gulas and did a great job- it was delicious. This year I can’t commit to organize the cooking. If there is a volunteer who wants to do some camp wide cooking (chickens, gulas, piglet…), please let me know. All bills will be paid after you arrange it with Jan Seben.
Music? Past years Petr Gajdos and Jozef Bill spread the good vibes on their guitars. Anyone is invited. Bring the CDs too.
Weather? We do not know yet but everyone is invited to bring their own gazebos. I will bring two but we need more.
Want to register?
BCBSA - Jan Seben (contact in email received on June 8, 2012)
Please let me know what kind of camping goods or sport activities you will bring, so we can don’t duplicate.
